Giving Back - The Sharing Shelf

The Sharing Shelf

Family Services of Westchester

For the month of September 2018, Hello Spud is partnering with The Sharing Shelf.

We hope everyone has had a beautiful summer. As a new school year begins, the Hello Spud team decided the Sharing Shelf is the perfect match for our September 2018 Give Back campaign -- every child deserves access to new clothes and supplies as part of their educational experience.

20% of the proceeds of your purchase on will be contributed to The Sharing Shelf, a program of Family Services of Westchester.*

The Sharing Shelf, founded in 2009, is Westchester’s clothing bank for children. We collect and distribute new and gently used clothing in sizes from newborn through XXL, for children and teens from infancy through age 19. Volunteers meet in our Port Chester warehouse where donations are screened then sorted them by size, season and gender. Social workers, therapists, teachers, attorneys and others working with low-income families in our community submit requests for their clients. Our volunteers then create packages filled with a week’s worth of seasonally appropriate clothing matched into outfits according to a child’s sizing needs. Each year, we distribute more than 70,000 items to children through more than 40 local schools, hospitals, social service agencies and nonprofits.

THANK YOU in advance for your support!
